UX Design - Yum Cooking App
Yum is a conceptual mobile app designed for a company that offers a wide range of in-person and virtual cooking classes. The goal of the project was to create a user-friendly platform where users could easily browse class offerings, sign up, and connect with the company. The app needed to feel approachable, efficient, and enjoyable to use from start to finish.
Research and Strategy
To guide the visual and UX direction of the brand, I began with a stylescape and user persona. These helped define the target audience and set the tone for the overall brand experience. I focused on creating an identity that felt warm, energetic, and easy to navigate, with a color scheme that reflected the creativity and vibrancy of cooking.
Branding and Logo Design
I designed the Yum logo to be bold, fun, and flexible enough to work across various platforms. The mark incorporates brand colors and was created with mobile use in mind, ensuring it could be clearly recognized as an app icon. The goal was to make the logo feel both inviting and modern, aligning with the company’s personality and digital presence. I created multiple logo variations to ensure it could adapt seamlessly as a full logo, app icon, or standalone graphic across digital and printed materials. To support the visual system within the app, I also designed a set of custom icons that match the logo’s style, creating a cohesive and consistent experience throughout the interface.
Using Adobe XD, I began the app layout process with low-fidelity wireframes. These early designs helped map out each screen and user flow, from class discovery to booking and account access. I paid close attention to intuitive navigation and page hierarchy to ensure a seamless user experience throughout.

After refining the wireframes, I developed a high-fidelity app design that brought the brand and user journey to life. I focused on accessibility, visual consistency, and creating a clear path for users to explore, register, and connect with the brand. The final design emphasizes simplicity, personality, and an overall memorable experience for the user.
